Closure of St Columba’s Building
Arrangements for closure of St Columba's building
The church building of St Columba's is going to be closing in May 2010. This is a sad time for many people because the building holds so many memories from the past forty years. We want to give people across the parish and in the community a chance to give thanks for the good things that have gone on through the years. There will be two special services in May. On Sunday the 2nd at the earlier time of 11.00 a.m. there will be a service of thanksgiving. We have invited Revd Ross McLaren, a former minister of the parish, to be the preacher that day. The closing service will be on the afternoon of Sunday May 16th at 3.00 p.m. This will be led by the Moderator of the Presbytery of West Lothian, and the preacher will be Revd Sheilagh Kesting. The invitation goes out far and wide to join us in worship on either Sunday or both. Although the building will go, the congregation continues to worship on Craigshill. They will meet Sunday by Sunday from May 23rd in the lounge at Craigengar.
